Tough 1-point loss. 21-20 down to the wire with the Atoms marching into the Rebel's red zone with just seconds left... The next play, the Atoms failed to get out of bounds, but the ball inadvertently (or not), was placed (kicked/thrown?) out of reach of the officials, preventing a timely return to field and the clock appeared to have run out.
Given the situation, the officials afforded the Atoms one more play putting less than a second back on the clock. Lost in the panic, excitement and confusion, the Atoms quickly lined up to stop the clock. In between the process of snapping the ball and spiking it, the time elapsed - ending the amazing drive and the game. Confusion all around, followed by dismay, then pondering of shoulda-woulda-couldas.
These are great! Thank you
ReplyDeleteThank you, to the Bellem family for the above-and-beyond support for the Atoms!
